FEATURED PROJECT

Burke’s Kitchen

Serendipity brought us together as Mrs. Burke had happened to see The Patterson’s Kitchen on the Houzz website and fell instantly in love with its elegance and simplicity. At initial meet and greet to discuss the project, the photo was brought out with great enthusiasm and was only then discovered that Krista Van Kessel was the designer of the kitchen design. The relationship was sealed in that moment.

Our Solutions

The Penthouse Suite  corner unit never had a washer and dryer put in and that was a priority in designing the layout of the kitchen. Finding just the right under cabinet units and then designing cabinets to house them was the key.

To make the long galley kitchen feel larger and more inviting, we took out a small hall closet and added the space to the kitchen to house a microwave and oven, plus opened up the doorways on either end of the kitchen rather than having narrow passageways with headers that enclosed the area and blocked the view. We also took part of the wall from between the kitchen and  living room out to bring the bay view into the kitchen.

Following the look of The Patterson’s Kitchen, we used black glass framed with stainless steel for the cabinetry but selected the deep rich Fusion Granite countertop with its watery greys, blues, and mossy colors to mimic the ever changing bay just outside the window.

A crystal chandelier framed in black linen brought an unexpected elegance to the sink and offered romance when dimmed for evening meals.
