Patterson’s Kitchen

A kitchen for an artist who really doesn’t like to cook but wanted a stand-out designed kitchen to go with her modern house and sense of clean lines.

Our Solutions

As artwork was of great importance we took all the upper cabinets off of the exterior wall so we had room to hang original art as well as a more open feeling in the otherwise long narrow galley kitchen. Lofting the ceiling also added height and architectural interest to the space with its new sharp angle and soffit for the lighting.

The cabinets are black back painted glass framed in stainless steel adding depth of color but with reflectivity of light as well as ease for gleanability. Drawer boxes and pull out shelves were upgraded to metal framing to keep the modern look even inside the cabinets. The edge detail of the countertop was created with a 45 degree back angle to mimic the lofted ceiling angle.

All windows were replaced with black framing and also black trim to keep the striking and dramatic look throughout the house.
